Free wellbeing activities for children, schools and families
Based on our Skills for Life programmes, these free printable wellbeing activities have been designed to support mental health and emotional wellbeing and help children understand and express feelings, manage anxiety, and cope with change, loss, and life’s challenges. The activities are suitable for a range of ages from 3 to 12 years and can be used at home or in school with small groups or the whole class.
Topics covered
Our activities for children and young people (aged 3-12 years) cover a wide range of mental health and emotional wellbeing topics:
- Feelings – anger, anxiety, jealousy, sadness, including a feelings chart and worry jar activity
- Communication – expressing feelings and listening
- Friendship – make and keep friends and deal with rejection
- Change and loss – cope better with difficult changes such as changing schools, loss and bereavement
- Ways to cope and be mindful – building emotional resilience
- Self-efficacy – boosting an individual's belief in their ability to accomplish tasks and achieve goals
- Early years – tailored activities for young children aged 3-5
- Dealing with bullying - activities to help children who are being bullied or see someone being bullied
- Young carers – promote young carers social and emotional development
- Good Books for Tough Times – books worth reading with your child, whether or not they are going through difficulties
- Teacher mental health – activities focused on coping skills for teachers
