Partnership for Children is a UK registered charity that helps children to be mentally and emotionally healthy – just as exercise, good food and sleep help them to be physically healthy.

We have developed a range of well-evidenced programmes to help young children across the entire primary school age range to learn how to deal with difficulties, so that they will be better able to cope with problems and crises now and as teenagers and adults.

Zippy’s Friends is our flagship programme is based on the coping theory and has been evaluated and found to improve children’s coping skills, social skills, emotional literacy, improve the class climate and reduce bullying. Read about the evidence behind Zippy’s Friends and the impact the programme has had on children and teachers.

Zippy’s Friends is based around a series of stories and the programme has 24 sessions of 45 minutes. The activities and stories are suitable for children of all abilities. There are also Home Activities to reinforce learning at home with parents and carers.

You can download and print our free wellbeing activities for early years, primary school children and families. The children's activities are designed to help children process feelings, communicate effectively, cope with their anxieties and difficulties and deal with change and loss.

The free kids activities:

  • Can be downloaded or done with pen and paper
  • Designed for children aged three to nine and can be adapted for younger or older children and children with Special Educational Needs and disabilities
  • Include instructions for adults to complete with children

We have developed a selection of play-based activities to promote young children's social and emotional development and wellbeing.

The Skills for Life programmes have been extensively evaluated - have a look at the evidence and impact here.

As the need for effective mental health promotion in children is more important than ever we have launched our Skills for Life as a Whole School Approach to Wellbeing Resource which has been created to provide schools with practical advice and resources to embed the Skills for Life programmes effectively as a whole school approach to emotional health and mental wellbeing.
