Helping children thrive with fun, positive psychology resources

Supporting children’s wellbeing and personal development can feel like a big task, but small, practical tools can make a real difference. Our new range of positive psychology card games offers a playful way to help pupils explore their strengths, build confidence and develop social and emotional skills.
Why positive psychology matters
Positive psychology focuses on the qualities that help people flourish and thrive. By recognising their strengths, children develop self-awareness, resilience, and a positive self-image. These skills don’t just support academic progress, they help children feel confident, capable and connected in all areas of their lives.
Card games for everyday learning
Created by Professor Ilona Boniwell, internationally recognised positive psychology expert and creator of the Partnership for Children SPARK Resilience programme, these card-based tools are designed to be engaging and accessible. They encourage discussion, reflection and connection in a fun way.
- They can be used in a variety of ways:
- Whole-class PSHE or wellbeing sessions
- Small group or nurture sessions
- One-to-one support
- Circle time
- To support with changes (e.g. starting school or moving year groups)
- As a starter or plenary for Zippy’s Friends, Apple’s Friends, Passport or SPARK Resilience programme sessions
