Let's Play Strengths Cards Ages 3+

£15.00

Positive traits are central to positive psychology, as is recognising and developing character strengths. Positive psychology is “the study of the conditions and processes that contribute to the flourishing or optimal functioning of individuals, groups, and institutions” (Gable & Haidt, 2005).

Knowing your strengths builds self-confidence because it helps you to develop a positive self-image. It also helps you better understand others and see them from the perspective of their strengths.

Strengths can be defined as characteristics that enable a person to be as successful and happy as possible (Wood et al., 2011). They can be both nurtured and practiced. Strengths are our natural way of functioning. When we use our strengths, we are authentic (the true self), energised, and successful.

This pack of 24 cards is based on the work of Seligman and Peterson, published in 2004, who developed a classification of 24 universal strengths recognised and valued “across history and cultures.” They are grouped into 6 categories of strengths that have consistent underlying values, which is why these cards are divided into 6 families.

Happiness games can be used in a family setting or as an educational and facilitation tool.

Fantastic Worlds of Strengths Cards for ages 6-12

£25.00

Play with the Fantastic Worlds of Strengths Cards and discover your own superpowers for boosting your energy, confidence, and sense of capability along the way.

Embark on an adventure through six magical worlds and meet the heroes who inhabit them, each with a unique power to share.

The 24-character strengths identified by Seligman and Peterson represent the best parts of who we are, the qualities that make us feel competent, authentic, and full of vitality. These strengths inspired the creation of the game and are brought to life through 24 wonderfully illustrated characters (drawn by Charlie Bourdaud), each with a unique superpower.

These strengths belong to six fundamental values, represented by the six worlds in the game:

  • Wisdom & Knowledge (Water World)
  • Courage (Desert World)
  • Humanity & Relationships (Forest World)
  • Temperance & Balance (Miniature World)
  • Justice (Bird World)
  • Transcendence, Intuition & Inspiration (Plant World)

Meeting these characters, discovering their worlds and their powers, helps children recognise and develop their own strengths, while also learning to spot and appreciate strengths in others.

Includes a deck of 24 playing cards, one introduction card and three “Game Idea” cards. For children aged 6 to 12 supported by parents or teachers.
