Zippy’s Friends is being run in the Republic of Karelia (north-western Russia) by a small but effective agency, NGO Sodeistvie, which manages a variety of programmes promoting the health of children and young people in the area. The first teacher training course was held in November 2011, and the programme has now started in a few schools and kindergartens.
The introduction of Zippy’s Friends in Karelia has been funded by the Norwegian Barents Secretariat, which promotes Norwegian-Russian relations in the north.
