Mauritius
The island of Mauritius in the southern Indian Ocean saw Zippy's Friends introduced into ten primary schools in 2009. The Catholic Education Bureau administers 48 schools, and has an action plan to deliver holistic and child-centred education. The adoption of Zippy's Friends is part of the plan.
The programme is now going from strength to strength and has expanded to nearby Rodrigues Island.
The programme in Mauritius is sponsored by a range of local companies.
